About

First and foremost, I am a realtor serving the greater Williamsburg area. However, my work goes far beyond just helping people buy or sell a home. My purpose is to bring about a “revolution” in real estate. I do this by combining my insider knowledge and deep love for the Williamsburg area with my successes as a dedicated realtor. Simply put, I love where I live. By working with Mr. Williamsburg, you’ll find all the answers and help you need in one place.

Since 2004, I’ve been sharing in-depth information and updating my website with the latest news for visitors and those who call Williamsburg home. I’ve even helped international clients navigate the area – a couple moving back to the States from France found a blog post I wrote about grocery shopping to be the missing piece of the puzzle they needed to confirm their decision! It’s comments like these and from other clients looking for homes throughout the Williamsburg and Hampton Roads area that lead me to keep sharing the things I love so much about this area. Whether you’re just stopping by for the weekend or looking for a place to continue your story, I’m here to be your guide and welcome you to the ‘Burg!

Who is Mr. Williamsburg?

I am John Womeldorf. I took on the nickname of Mr. Williamsburg because after creating my website, I knew I wanted a way to stand out. With a name that’s somewhat hard to pronounce and a want for something more recognizable, Mr. Williamsburg was born. I grew up in Virginia Beach, so it’s no surprise I made my way back to Hampton Roads. After college, I moved to the D.C. area and tried my hand at a few positions, including serving as the Manager of a land development and construction company and business manager of a cut flower business. I had lived in D.C. and Annapolis up until 2004, when I decided it was time to take a step towards a more simplistic lifestyle and make my way to Williamsburg to be closer to my extended family and away from some of the busyness of Northern Virginia.

As one of the initial agents at the Liz Moore and Associates branch in Williamsburg, I knew that I wanted to do real estate a little differently. I found that in real estate, no two people or transactions are exactly alike. That being said, it’s important to not treat each transaction the same. I enjoy taking on each new challenge and find I am rewarded every time I close a transaction and have the opportunity to see the smiles on the faces of my clients.

Why Williamsburg?

For the past fifteen years, I’ve been lucky enough to call Williamsburg home. Saving hours from my day not driving on the D.C. beltway and finding all the hidden gems that Williamsburg has to offer has been a game changer. My sons Zach and Josh attended DJ Montague Elementary, Hornsby Middle School, and Lafayette High School. My family and I have made the most out of our time here, enjoying the outdoors and trying new restaurants. As a lover of cycling, music, and good food, I can easily make my perfect day in Williamsburg every time I have a day off.

I feel lucky to be living the dream and would be happy to assist you with any real estate questions or as you plan your visit to this great city.
