James City County’s Outdoor Pools Open for Summer
James City County’s two outdoor pools open for the 2018 season – Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day!
Memorial Day weekend operating hours are Saturday, May 26 – Monday, May 28, noon to 6 p.m. daily. The summer-long operation schedule is listed below. The pools are located at Chickahominy Riverfront Park, 1350 John Tyler Highway and Upper County Park, 180 Leisure Road in Toano.
Pools open May 26 – Sept. 3:
Weekends only, May 29-June 17, noon-6 p.m.
(open Saturday & Sunday; closed Monday-Friday):
Daily, June 18 – Aug. 5:
Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Friday-Sunday, 11 a.m.- 8 p.m.
Aug. 6 – Sept. 3:
The Chickahominy Riverfront Park pool is open daily, Aug. 6-Sept. 3, noon – 6 p.m.
The Upper County Park pool is open daily, Aug. 6-16, noon – 6 p.m. Between Aug. 17-30, open Friday-Sunday, noon-6 p.m. Open Aug. 31-Sept. 3, daily, noon-6 p.m.

Children 5 & younger: Free/Free
Youth 6-17: $3/$5
Adults 18-54: $4/$6
Seniors 55+: $3/$5
Season Pool Passes
Get your season pass which can be used at both pools. Family season passes are only for immediate family living in the same household. Passes can be purchased online at jamescitycountyva.gov/recreation, at the James City County Recreation Center, 5301 Longhill Road, the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, 8901 Pocahontas Trail/Route and Satellite Services, 3127 Forge Road in Toano. Passes can also be purchased at the Chickahominy Riverfront Park and the Upper County Park pool offices.

The park offers a large pool, separate restrooms, two shade structures, lounge chairs, a playground (ages 2-12) and shelter nearby, ADA accessible pool lift and a snack bar stocked with ice cream, drinks and chips. After hours pool rentals are available.
Upper County Park, 180 Leisure Road in Toano, 757-566-1451
The pool features a 25-meter pool with a slide and a toddler pool. For your convenience, there are separate and family changing rooms with showers, a snack bar, picnic shelters nearby, shade structures, lounge chairs and a playground (ages 2-12) nearby. Morning swim lessons are also offered. After hours pool rentals are available.

We’re hosting two family fun nights at the pool. Join us for games, prizes and fun. Children ages 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
After Hours Pool Rental Fees
Whether you’re looking to cool off for the day or host a private pool party, we’ve got you covered! Evening rentals available. Rates based on size of your group and include two hours of pool time, one/ two lifeguards and one park attendant. Call 757-259-5360 for reservations. Pool capacity is maximum 100 people.
