Sales are strong at Whittakers Mill in Williamsburg VA

With a brand new section of homesites just released – don’t miss your last opportunity to pick out the perfect one!

Over 160 families have decided to make Whittaker’s Mill home! Carefully crafted streetscapes of craftsman style homes with stone and brick features distinguish us from the rest. With easy access to Interstate 64, the Colonial Parkway, and Highway 143 you can quickly get to work, schools, and family.

One of the only new home communities in the area that offers the option of a basement! Imagine having the extra space for your kids to play with their friends or a retreat for the sports fanatic in your life!

Upon completion, the new neighborhood will contain 106 townhomes, 95 traditional single-family lots and 19 larger estate lots.

The community offers a 3,000-square-foot clubhouse with a pool, community gardens, bike trails and open green space, and a large-scale passive park to the east of the property that will serve as a buffer between the adjacent commercial property.

Whittaker’s Mill is also bounded by a 65-acre battlefield to the west that was recently donated to the Civil War Trust by the Anheuser-Busch Foundation.  The site played a pivotal role in fighting on May 5, 1862, and is the only part of the afternoon phase of the battlefield currently protected from development. The Civil War Trust foresees the property becoming the anchor for a future Williamsburg Battlefield Park. In the meantime, it will be stewarded by the Williamsburg Land Conservancy, a local land trust.

The development will have four-foot sidewalks throughout that will provide pedestrian access to the various recreation amenities that include :

• A swimming pool

• A 3,000 square foot clubhouse with fitness room, kitchenette and community
activity room.
• A 1.7-acre “town square” recreation space and multi-purpose activity field
off Penniman Road.
• Garden plots under the power line easements along Bolton’s Mill Parkway.
• A 5.2-acre nature park along the eastern boundary to be accessed via a walkway from McCormick Place.
• A one-acre park surrounded by the rear of the single-family homes on
Marston Arch and Penick’s Mill Road.
• An outdoor activity facility area designed for an activity such as a community picnic shelter, barbeque grilling area or horseshoe pit.

Whittaker’s Mill Site-plan

siteplan-whittikers-mill

Whittaker’s Mill was designed by Brandon Currence Architects who were involved in the planning for a number of communities in the area including Port Warwick, Nelsons Grant, Church Square and many others. The design for Whittakers Mill combines the efficiency and in town feel of a town home community oriented toward an open square at the front of the community. ( similar to Port Warwick). In the back of the community will be traditional single family lots as well as larger estate sized lots with dramatic wooded ravine views.

The town square and neighborhood clubhouse provide focal points for community social events. Both will enjoy a view of the largest pond in the neighborhood.

The development is located in the York County attendance zones for Magruder Elementary, Queens Lake Middle, and Bruton High Schools.
