Ampersand International Arts Festival Brings Big Talent to Williamsburg This Week

Williamsburg is about to come alive with music, comedy, and culture as the Ampersand International Arts Festival kicks off this week! Running March 17-25, the festival is packed with over 50 performances, workshops, and events, taking place all around the city and on the William & Mary campus.

One of the biggest names in the lineup is James “Murr” Murray, star of Impractical Jokers, who will bring his signature humor to A Night of Laughs on Wednesday. For Murray, this is more than just a performance—it’s a homecoming. His family spent summers in Williamsburg, and he has fond memories of visiting Busch Gardens. Now, he’s returning to entertain a whole new crowd.

Comedian James “Murr” Murray, known for his work on the show “Impractical Jokers,” will perform in Williamsburg Wednesday night as part of the Ampersand International Arts Festival.

Another major highlight? Rev. Run of Run DMC will be in town Saturday for a special conversation event, giving fans a chance to hear from one of hip-hop’s most legendary figures. The festival will also feature a performance by The Lone Bellow, an indie-folk group that includes W&M alum Kanene Donehey Pipkin (Class of 2007).

The Lone Bellow

What started 18 years ago as a small film festival has grown into a week-long celebration of the arts, with a mix of film screenings, author talks, concerts, and creative workshops. Many events are free, and last year’s festival drew over 3,000 attendees, making it an incredible opportunity for both locals and visitors to experience world-class talent right here in Williamsburg.
