The fun unfolds on Tuesday, May 21, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Be sure to be there by 5:00 PM to catch the live musical performance by the local favorite, Joe’s Day Off, and enjoy some delicious, complimentary food.

Location:
Community Building Lawn, 401 N. Boundary St., Williamsburg, VA.

Activities Include:

  • Live Music and Free Food: Groove to the tunes of Joe’s Day Off while enjoying free hot dogs and hamburgers prepared by Chef Jay Burton. Don’t miss out on the delicious sno-balls and ice cream served by Sno-to-Go.
  • Community Art Project: Get creative with a community art project sponsored by the Williamsburg Public Art Council. Inspired by Iker Muro’s mural “Between Lanterns and Tulips,” participants will contribute to a large canvas that mimics a beautiful lantern, just like the ones in the mural.
  • Crafts and Games: The Williamsburg Regional Library will host a craft project inspired by the wisteria of City Square. Additionally, there will be plenty of lawn and board games for everyone to enjoy, alongside a selfie station set up inside the Community Building.

A Bit of Background:
Launched in 2021 as a heartfelt thank you to our community for its strength and unity through the COVID-19 pandemic, Community Appreciation Day has evolved into an annual event. It’s a day to acknowledge the daily efforts of residents, students, workers, and visitors that make Williamsburg a warm and inviting place.

This event is free and open to the public, so bring your friends and family to make some memories and enjoy a day filled with art, music, and community spirit. See you there!
