The latest data from REIN shows buyers in Hampton Roads enjoyed more housing options in October — while prices stayed strong year-over-year. The market continues to balance out, giving both buyers and sellers opportunities this fall.

What REIN Saw in October
🟦 Active Listings
5,571 homes were actively listed — the highest inventory we’ve seen in a long time and a 16.9% jump from last year.
🟦 Pending Sales
2,162 contracts were written in October — up 4.3% year-over-year.
🟦 Closed Sales
2,099 closings — nearly identical to last year, proving buyers and sellers are still meeting in the middle.
🟦 Median Sale Price (MSP)
$362,000 overall MSP — down slightly from September, but still up 2.26% versus last October.
Peninsula MSP dipped 1.85% • Southside MSP rose 4.6% — same region, different personalities.
