Silver Hand Meadery Receives Williamsburg Business Appreciation Award

Silver Hand Meadery, a local meadery located in Williamsburg, Virginia, has been named the recipient of the 2023 Williamsburg Business Appreciation Award. The award was presented to Silver Hand Meadery by Mayor Douglas G. Pons at the June 8, 2023, Williamsburg City Council meeting.

The Williamsburg Business Appreciation Award is presented annually by the Williamsburg Economic Development Authority to a business that has made significant contributions to the betterment of the City. Silver Hand Meadery was selected for the award for its commitment to innovation, excellent customer service, and environmental sensitivity.

Silver Hand Meadery was founded in 2012 by Glenn and Sherri Lavender. Glenn is a former musician who began making mead in his home after learning about the ancient drink during his travels. Sherri is a certified beekeeper who helps Glenn source the honey used in Silver Hand Meadery’s products.

The meadery offers a variety of mead flavors, including dry, sweet, and fruit-infused varieties. Silver Hand Meadery also offers educational opportunities on mead, honey, and honeybees. All tastings can be booked directly online.
