Udder Nonsense Creamery’s First Farm Day – A Dairy Dream Realized in Charles City

Sunday, May 25 | 11 AM–3 PM | Free Admission & Parking | Rain or Shine
Location: 12800 The Glebe Ln., Charles City, VA 23030

If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to turn a lifelong dream into a delicious reality, look no further than Udder Nonsense Creamery in Charles City, Virginia. This isn’t just a creamery—it’s a true farm-to-table operation born from passion, hard work, and a whole lot of love (plus a few very cooperative cows).
⸻
From North East England to Southern Virginia
Steve Rose, a native of North East England, grew up surrounded by small dairies and fresh cheeses. One of his earliest food loves was a soft, creamy Brie, and his dream of one day making it never left him. Fast forward to today, and that dream is now a full-fledged creamery in rural Charles City, built from the ground up with his partner Patti Cubstead, who grew up in the Midwest also surrounded by dairy farms.
Their trips to Europe sampling delicious cheeses sealed the deal and pushed them to take the big step.
Meeting Darin Durham, VA Tech grad and farm animal lover truly made the dream possible.
Together, Steve, Patti and Darin have created Udder Nonsense Creamery, a charming and highly personal dairy where the milk is produced, processed, and transformed into gelato and cheese all on site. It doesn’t get more local, or more delicious, than this.
Darin milks the cows, Patti processes, churns and packs with love, all the delicious products and Steve just creates the nonsense….
And yes—when you visit the farm, you’ll get to meet the cows and their lovable donkey companions who help make the magic happen.
⸻
