2nd Sundays Williamsburg is not just a festival; it’s a labor of love, driven by the passion and dedication of Shirley Vermillion. With her vision and unwavering commitment, Shirley has single-handedly created and nurtured this event over the past 15 years, transforming it into one of the premier festivals in the state. However, what many people may not realize is that this festival receives no funding whatsoever from the city or any other entity.
That’s right—2nd Sundays Williamsburg relies entirely on the support of volunteers and the community to thrive. Without the generous contributions of time and effort from volunteers, this beloved event simply wouldn’t be possible. From setting up booths and assisting vendors to helping with traffic management and ensuring the safety of attendees, volunteers play a crucial role in making each festival a success.
As we gear up for another exciting season of 2nd Sundays, we find ourselves facing a critical challenge: a shortage of volunteers. With each festival drawing in crowds of eager visitors, the need for additional helping hands has never been more urgent. Whether you can spare a few hours or commit to volunteering regularly throughout the year, your contribution will make a difference.
So, if you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community, consider lending a hand at 2nd Sundays Williamsburg. Join us in honoring Shirley’s incredible legacy and ensuring that this cherished tradition continues to thrive for years to come. Sign up to volunteer today and be a part of something truly special. Together, we can make each festival an unforgettable experience for all who attend.
