About the Event:
Art on the Square features a juried selection of artworks that emphasize originality, high-quality craftsmanship, and a diversity of mediums. This year, we will host over 90 talented artists on North Boundary Street, from Richmond Road to Scotland Street. The event is free and open to the public, offering an extraordinary opportunity for art lovers to enjoy and purchase unique artworks directly from the creators.

Special Features:

  • Food and Refreshments: Local favorites like Cousins Maine Lobster, Old City BBQ, and Polar Snow will be on-site to cater to all tastes.
  • Featured Artist: Gulay Berryman, renowned for her captivating oil paintings, returns this year with her latest masterpiece, “Welcoming Spring.” This exclusive artwork will be raffled off during the event. Raffle tickets are available online and at the JWCW tent.
  • Commemorative Items: Collect our 2024 commemorative posters and cherish memories from past events with posters available for purchase. All proceeds support our community’s visual and performing arts.
  • Sponsorship Appreciation: We extend our heartfelt thanks to Westgate Historic Williamsburg Resort, Verizon, and all our community partners whose support makes this event possible.

Support the Arts:
Proceeds from artist booth fees, raffle tickets, and poster sales are dedicated to funding the Richard E. DePaul Memorial Scholarship for Visual and Performing Arts and other arts organizations across Williamsburg, James City, and York counties.

Special Framing Offer:
Nora Bartlett from Walls Alive, an in-kind sponsor, will provide special pricing on framing for our posters. Mention JWCW when you visit Walls Alive, and a portion of the frame sales will also benefit our club.

Here’s a condensed version that includes the key information about the Junior Woman’s Club of Williamsburg (JWCW) for your latest post:

Overview of the Junior Woman’s Club of Williamsburg (JWCW)

Founded in 1954, the JWCW is a vibrant volunteer organization made up of civic-minded women dedicated to making a positive difference in our community. Our members, ranging in age from their 20s to 40s, are predominantly from Williamsburg, James City County, and the Bruton District of York County.

Our club actively supports a variety of charitable organizations and community services through both financial contributions and volunteer efforts. Key fundraising events, such as Brews that Benefit and Art on the Square, allow us to provide mini-grants to local nonprofits and scholarships to deserving high school seniors.

Proudly affiliated with the General Federation of Woman’s Clubs (GFWC) and its Lee District since 1925, JWCW is part of a global network that includes over 100,000 members across the world, all committed to community service.

Join us in our mission to live each day with purpose and help us impact our community positively!
