Wyndham Plantation West Final Phase coming soon: Eastwood Homes to Complete 12 Remaining Units

By John Womeldorf | Mr. Williamsburg

After more than 15 years of dormancy, the final 12 homes at Wyndham Plantation West—a well-situated condo community within the City of Williamsburg—are finally set to be built. Eastwood Homes, a respected regional builder based in Richmond, has been approved to complete the development, bringing long-awaited continuity and fresh housing options to this tucked-away gem.

The Backstory

Wyndham Plantation West was originally developed by Dick Ash of American Eastern, who completed 12 condos around 2008. Unfortunately, the housing market softened around that time, and none of those initial 12 units were ever sold. Instead, they were retained as rentals, now owned by Dandy Land LLC, a company sharing the same Hampton, Virginia address as American Eastern. Since then, the remaining lots have sat vacant—until now.

Across the street sits the original Wyndham Plantation, built by Lifetime Homes in the late 1990s and early 2000s. This community of 100 townhome-style, brick-front condos has become one of Williamsburg’s best-kept secrets, valued for its peaceful setting and easy access to Colonial Williamsburg, the College of William & Mary, and the Colonial Parkway.

What’s Being Built?

The homes being constructed by Eastwood will remain architecturally consistent with the established community while incorporating modern, durable materials. According to the recently submitted plans, exteriors will feature Hardie siding in Arctic White with matching Hardie trim at the corners and boxed edges. Roofs will be covered in Tamko Weathered Wood 3-tab shingles, and brick accents will use Pine Hall’s Ashton Court style.

Windows will be MI single-hung 9-over-9 style in white, paired with fiberglass front doors in either black or tuxedo grey. Homes will include 4-inch white gutters and 6-foot white vinyl privacy fencing, along with black aluminum railings where appropriate. Additional features such as porch lattice detailing with natural-finish 4×4 posts and exposed aggregate concrete driveways and walkways will provide a polished, clean look. Pressure-treated wood will be used in select structural areas, also left in a natural finish to maintain visual warmth and continuity.

Inside, homes are expected to follow the original Wyndham layouts—featuring first-floor primary bedrooms, cathedral ceilings, gas fireplaces, walk-in attics, and attached one-car garages. Floor plans typically range from 1,670 to 2,180 square feet, with additional guest bedrooms and baths located on the second floor, ideal for visiting family or creating private office spaces.
