šŸŽ¶ New Town Tunes 2026: Free Concert Series Returns to Williamsburg

If you’ve been following along lately, you’ve probably noticed a theme—my last few posts have all been about live music.

That’s not by accident.

I’m a raving live music fan, and I’ll be honest…this is the time of year I look forward to. Once the weather breaks, Williamsburg quietly turns into a really solid live music town if you know where to look.

And one of the easiest ways to jump right into it?

šŸ‘‰ New Town Tunes.

šŸ“ The Basics

  • Location: Sullivan Square in New Town
  • Dates: Wednesdays, May 6 – June 10
  • Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Cost: FREE

Hosted by James City County Parks & Recreation, in partnership with CultureFix and New Town, this series has become one of those dependable, ā€œjust show up and enjoy itā€ kind of events.

šŸŽ¤ 2026 Lineup

May 6 – Elton vs. Billy
A tribute to Elton John & Billy Joel
→ If you like either of them, you’ll know every song.

May 13 – The Roadducks
Classic Southern variety rock
→ Always a fun, high-energy night.

May 20 – The English Channel
British Invasion hits
→ Beatles, Stones, and everything in between.

May 27 – Cari Lacey
Country, folk & blues
→ A little more relaxed…great for just sitting back with a drink.

June 3 – Runaway String Band & Kooler Heads
Bluegrass, old-time, swing + jam band
→ This one’s got a little something for everyone.

June 10 – Klaxton Brown
Motown dance band
→ Show up ready to move…this is how you close out a series.

šŸ” What to Expect

This is more than just a concert—it’s a midweek reset:

  • Food trucks set up around the square
  • Beer & wine vendors flowing
  • Kids running around, neighbors catching up
  • Lawn chairs and blankets filling the space
  • A pretty relaxed, welcoming crowd

šŸ‘‰ Pro tip: Bring a chair and get there a little early. The good spots don’t last long.

šŸŽÆ Why This Matters

I talk about this all the time with clients—this is the kind of thing that doesn’t show up on a listing sheet.

You can’t quantify it…
But it absolutely matters.

Being able to walk or drive a few minutes on a Wednesday night, grab a drink, hear live music, and run into people you know—that’s the kind of lifestyle people are really buying into when they choose Williamsburg.

šŸŽ¶ Final Thought

Big thanks to CultureFix, New Town, and James City County for continuing to make this happen year after year.

I’ll be there—probably with a drink in hand, talking real estate with someone, and pretending I know all the words.

šŸ‘‹ About Me (and Why I Write These)

I get asked all the time why I spend so much time writing about concerts, restaurants, trails, and local events.

It’s because this is the stuff that actually matters when you’re deciding where to live.

I’ve been in Williamsburg for over 20 years. I’ve raised my family here, renovated homes, invested in property, and helped hundreds of people figure out not just what house to buy—but where they want to build their life.

Real estate isn’t just about bedrooms and bathrooms. It’s about:

  • What your weekends look like
  • Where you go on a random Wednesday night
  • Whether you feel connected to where you live

That’s why I write these—to give you a real sense of what it’s like to live here.

If you ever want to talk about neighborhoods, homes, or just what’s going on around town, I’m always happy to help.
