Colonial Williamsburg Bringing Back $17.76 Good Neighbor Pass for Local Residents
One of the best local deals in the Historic Triangle has officially returned.
Colonial Williamsburg is once again offering its popular Good Neighbor Pass for just $17.76, giving eligible local residents unlimited admission to Colonial Williamsburg for an entire year.
For many families in Williamsburg, James City County, and York County, the annual promotion has become something of a tradition. Whether you enjoy strolling Duke of Gloucester Street, visiting museums, attending special programs, introducing children to American history, or simply spending time downtown during the holidays, the pass provides year-round access at an incredibly affordable price.
The $17.76 price is, of course, a tribute to the year 1776, one of the defining years in American history and central to Colonial Williamsburg’s storytelling mission.

What the Good Neighbor Pass Includes
The Good Neighbor Pass provides unlimited admission to many of Colonial Williamsburg’s most popular attractions and experiences throughout the year, including:
- Historic buildings and exhibits
- Colonial trade shops
- Living-history programs
- Educational demonstrations
- The Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg
- Fife and Drum performances
- Seasonal programming and events
- Guided tours and interpretive experiences
For many locals, the pass becomes far more than simply an admission ticket. It becomes an opportunity to enjoy Colonial Williamsburg casually throughout the year without feeling the need to “do it all” in one visit.
Some residents stop by for an hour after dinner. Others walk the Historic Area in the mornings before crowds arrive. Many families use the pass throughout the holidays when Colonial Williamsburg is decorated with its famous wreaths, greenery, candles, and festive displays.

According to Colonial Williamsburg, residents living within the following ZIP codes qualify for the Good Neighbor Pass program: 23081, 23089, 23090, 23127, 23168, 23185, 23186, 23187, 23188, 23603, 23690, 23691, 23692, 23693, 23694, and 23696.

Special Eligibility for Military, Teachers, and Local Employees
The program also includes additional benefits for several important groups within the community.
Military Families
Military personnel and direct dependents living in Williamsburg, James City County, or York County are eligible for the Good Neighbor Pass.
Colonial Williamsburg states that military members with an out-of-state driver’s license may present a military ID along with a current utility bill as proof of local residency.
Teachers & Homeschool Educators
Teachers working for qualifying local school systems are eligible to receive a FREE Good Neighbor Pass.
Eligibility does not extend to family members, and educators must present a valid Virginia driver’s license along with a current school ID as proof of employment.
Homeschool teachers residing within qualifying ZIP codes are also eligible for a free Good Neighbor Pass. Required documentation includes an annual homeschool Letter of Intent, superintendent approval letter, and a Virginia driver’s license showing an eligible ZIP code.
Colonial Williamsburg also notes that educators outside the immediate area may qualify for a 25% discount on a single-day ticket or annual pass with valid identification.
Municipal Employees
Current municipal employees of the City of Williamsburg, James City County, and York County are also eligible to receive a FREE Good Neighbor Pass.
Employees must present a valid Virginia driver’s license along with a current city or county employee ID. Eligibility applies only to the employee and does not extend to family members.
One of the Best Parts About Living Here
One of the things I often tell people considering a move to Williamsburg is that Colonial Williamsburg is not simply a tourist attraction — it becomes part of daily life here.
Many locals enjoy early morning walks through the Historic Area, attending concerts and lectures, visiting restaurants, or simply spending time downtown throughout the seasons. During the holidays especially, the atmosphere throughout Colonial Williamsburg becomes something truly special.
It’s also easy for longtime residents to take it for granted. Millions of visitors travel from around the world to experience what we have right in our backyard.
The Good Neighbor Pass is a wonderful excuse to rediscover Colonial Williamsburg and enjoy it throughout the year at your own pace.
