Williamsburg’s Got Talent returns for 2012
Bands, Comedians, Dancers, Impressionists,Jugglers, Magicians and singers will have a chance to shine next month when the Williamsburg Land Conservancy hosts it’s second annual “Williamsburg’s Got Talent” fundraising event.
The event, scheduled for September 28, 2012 at 7:00 p.m at the Kimball Theater, will showcase 10 area talents vying for a trophy. Ticket sales will benefit the Land Conservancy, which is dedicated to protecting and preserving significant natural, scenic, agricultural and history land in the Historic Triangle.
2012 Auditions will be held at the Williamsburg Landing in the Alvin Anderson Auditorium on:
Saturday, August 18th from 8:00 a.m. to Noon;
Monday, August 20th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Thursday, August 23rd from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Thursday, September 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Judges for the 2012 show include: Kathy Hornsby, local artist and no stranger to talent; Everett Collins, former member of the Isley Brothers and middle school music teacher; and Sam McDonald, Entertainment Editor for the Daily Press. Dick Smith, musician extraordinaire and member of the Smith Wade Band will again serve as our MC for the evening.
Tickets will be available through Colonial Williamsburg and can be purchased online , at the Kimball Theater or any Colonial Williamsburg ticket office, or by calling 1-800-HISTORY. Tickets will go on sale later this month..

About the Williamsburg Land Conservancy
Founded in 1990 as the Historic Rivers Land Conservancy, was the first private non-profit land trust in Virginia incorporated specifically to use the provisions of the Virginia Conservation Easement Act. In 1996 their name was changed and today, the Conservancy operates as a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, supported by annual membership dues, donations and grants. A Board of Directors, comprised of community leaders from throughout the Historic Triangle, governs the organization. Working committees help to carry out the programs and projects of the Conservancy.
The Conservancy is dedicated to protecting and preserving significant natural, scenic, agricultural and historic land in the Historic Triangle. Through a combination of land preservation tools, education and advocacy programs, and shaping public policy, the Conservancy strives to maintain the character and ambiance of this special place where we live and work. Today, 4,400 acres of protected land later, the Williamsburg Land Conservancy is proudly celebrating its 23rd year.
