Colonial Williamsburg Launches Streaming Channel on Amazon Fire TV and Roku TV

(April 8, 2020) – Colonial Williamsburg offers learners and other enthusiasts a new way to experience America’s shared story at home with the introduction of the Colonial Williamsburg streaming channel on Amazon Fire TV and Roku TV.
The debut of the new channel, free on enabled devices through Amazon Fire TV or Roku TV accounts, coincides with Colonial Williamsburg’s ongoing expansion of online content – including virtual programming – to stay engaged with audiences interested in America’s enduring story. Content will remain available in the new “Explore from Home” section of Colonial Williamsburg’s website,colonialwilliamsburg.org, and on its popular social media channels, including Facebook and @colonialwmsburg on Instagram.
“Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area and Art Museums are a place we normally gather to experience our shared past and learn from the lives, ideas and complexities of America’s founding era,” said Beth Kelly, Colonial Williamsburg vice president of education, research and historical interpretation. “Our new streaming channel will allow Colonial Williamsburg to reach a wider audience in support of our educational mission, while providing viewers a 21st-century tool to visit the 18th century.”
