Construction starts again at High Street-Williamsburg
Construction has finally begun on the open parcel In High Street. It has been over 10 years since construction stopped at the development as a result of the recession.
The parcel was originally approved for townhouses but the developer, HS Apt. Land LC, asked the Williamsburg City Council for permission to reconfigure the lots into luxury apartments in January of 2018. The Council voted unanimously to approve the request.
The complex will include 96 apartments in eight separate buildings. The eight apartment buildings total 105,010 square feet and contain 64 one bedroom units and 32 two bedroom units. Rental rates have not been established but will most likely be higher than the adjacent Sterling Apartments.
The town homes built at High Street were originally marketed in the $500k-700k price range but only one was sold. The developer ended up renting them all as luxury apartments.
The new apartments will sit next to Sterling Manor off of Treyburn Drive and Middle Street. Directly behind The Movie Tavern, Five Guys, Le Yaca And Revolution Golf.
