Fords Colony Country Club announces sale
The sale of of Ford’s Colony Country Club in Williamsburg was finalized on Friday, November 30, 2012. The club was purchased by a joint venture comprised of Accord Golf Capital and Och-Ziff Real Estate. The joint venture brings together a management team with well over 50 years of combined golf industry experience and a significant capital provider. The venture was created to acquire golf assets similar in size and stature to Ford’s Colony.
The new owner has retained Traditional Golf Management (TGM) to oversee the day to day operations of the club. There is a fantastic team in place at Ford’s Colony and we are looking forward to working with them to build upon the great reputation that has been established through the years.
Traditional Golf Management (TGM) is a golf management company established in 1999, located in Toano, Virginia. TGM operates a total of thirteen clubs including six in Virginia Brickshire in Providence Forge, King Carter in Irvington, , Royal New Kent in Providence Forge, Stonehouse in Toano, and Stonewall Golf Club in Gainesville
TGM also operates clubs in North Carolina (5), Connecticut (1) and New York (1). TGM has extensive experience operating both private and semi-private golf clubs. At each of TGM s clubs we strive to enhance the overall member experience and customer satisfaction through open and frequent communication, upgraded member services, structured and ongoing capital improvements and ultimately improving the overall member value proposition.
The new ownership group not only understands how important Ford’s Colony is to the members as an amenity and social hub, but also understands the value the club brings to the residents of the surrounding community. TGM is working diligently to compile a comprehensive plan of improvements and enhancements,
Beginning January 1, 2013, Fords Colony Country Club members will have reciprocal member access to the three local TGM Clubs as well as reciprocal access to an additional nine Clubs in the TGM network. Members can play at Stonehouse, Royal New Kent and Brickshire for a member cart fee of $20.
