Introducing The Shoe: Colonial Williamsburg Resorts’ New Golf Course

Colonial Williamsburg Resorts is breaking ground on The Shoe, its first new golf course in 33 years. This nine-hole, par-three course is designed by renowned golf architect Rees Jones.

Join the celebration at the groundbreaking ceremony on July 9 at 10 a.m. at the Golden Horseshoe Gold Course.

Short courses are on the rise, with 50% of new course openings in the past decade being nine-hole layouts. The Shoe offers a quick, accessible golfing experience, ideal for quick outings, families, and new golfers.

Keith Jackson, Colonial Williamsburg’s VP of Hospitality, says, “The Shoe reflects the community’s call for a short, player-friendly course that complements our existing offerings.”

With The Shoe, the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club now offers 45 holes of championship golf within its stunning landscape.

Construction begins this month, with an opening planned for summer 2025. For more information and updates, visit colonialwilliamsburghotels.com/golf/theshoe.
