Jason Isbell to headline Williamsburg Live music festival

Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Jason Isbell and his band, The 400 Unit will headline this year’s Virginia Arts Festival “Williamsburg Live Music Festival”.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit to Williamsburg Live,” said Robert Cross, executive director, in a prepared statement. “As one of the most gifted musicians of this or any generation, Jason will bring passionate fans from across the U.S. to Williamsburg.”

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will headline the second day of this year’s music festival, June 27, in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia Arts Festival organizers announced this week. The headliner for Friday, June 26, has yet to be announced.

The 2020 festival is June 26-27 on the Lawn of the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg, 326 W. Francis St. Ticket prices are $39-$225 and will go on sale 10 a.m. Feb. 14 at vafest.org/williamsburg-live

More artists to be announced at a later date.

“Success is a very nice problem to have but I think ‘how do I get through it and not lose what made me good in the first place?’” he said in a news release. “A lot of these songs and the overall concept of this album is how do I progress as an artist and a human being and still keep that same hunger that I had when I wasn’t quite so far along in either respect.”

Isabell recently released the single “Be Afraid,” from the band’s upcoming album, Reunions, which is set to be released on May 15.
