Longhill Road widening project update

Starting as early as Dec. 4, the next temporary traffic shift for the Longhill Road Widening Project is scheduled to take place on Longhill Road, starting from the Olde Towne Road intersection and ending just east of Williamsburg West Drive, weather and schedule permitting.

Traffic in both directions will be shifted to the outside travel lanes to allow for the next phase of construction that will include performing work within the median and a new roundabout being constructed on Longhill Road at Williamsburg Plantation Drive. This shift will also introduce a new roundabout traffic pattern at this location using the outside travel lanes. Traffic markings and traffic control devices will be in place to ensure a smooth transition into the new traffic pattern.
During this traffic configuration estimated to last through late summer 2021, access will be maintained to all business and property entrances; however, left turns entering and exiting King of Glory Lutheran Church & School will be restricted during this phase. To access the parking lot, motorists traveling west must continue down Longhill Road and make a U-turn onto the eastbound lanes at the Olde Towne Road intersection. Motorists exiting the parking lot must make a right turn onto Longhill Road and travel eastbound to the next intersection at Williamsburg West Drive, where they may U-turn to travel westbound.
This work is dependent upon weather conditions; therefore, the schedule and duration of the work are subject to change.
Motorists are reminded to please continue to obey the speed limit and drive with caution through the project work zone.
