Jay Epstein, President/Developer/Builder of Health E Community Enterprises has created  Virginia’s first Zero Energy Ready Home community at Walnut Farms in James City County/ Williamsburg VA

At Walnut Farm, there will be a collection of 75 homes all with front porches that will promote neighborly living and community interaction. Centrally located within a few blocks of grocery stores, I-64, the Outlet Mall, and an excellent public school system.

Homeowners will be able to build a customizable home, selecting from one of 13 models in two series, the Founder and River, as a base. Founder Series models range in square footage from 2,049 square feet to 2,809 square feet.
The River Series models range in square footage from 2,300 square feet to 3,298 square feet.

The solar homes being built at Walnut Farm are engineered to be energy efficient utilizing green building products, value engineered construction, enhanced indoor air quality and solar power to help offset the electric utility cost for the heating, cooling, hot water heater, lights and appliances. You choose which level of efficiency is right for your family. Each home will come with a designated area on the roof that is prewired for solar panels. You have the option to choose solar now or later!

Walnut Farm is being developed by Jay Epstein, President/Developer/Builder of Health E Community Enterprises of Virginia Inc. and winner of the 2016, 2017, & 2018 Department of Energy Housing Innovation Award. Jay has joined forces with the U.S. Department of Energy and is building Virginia’s first Zero Energy Ready Home community,

Walnut Farm’s homes will be based on a proven building design that has been around for years and incorporating new building products that make the home achieve ultra-energy efficiency with a HERS score below 54 before incorporating the Photovoltaic (PV) system to achieve a HERS score as low as ZERO!
