New BAH Rates Announced for 2019

The Pentagon on Friday released the new 2019 Basic Allowance for Housing rates that will take effect in January, which show that service members on average will see a 2.5 percent uptick in housing allowance.

Service members can check the new BAH rate for their local zip code here on the Defense Department’s website.

The new BAH rates are intended to cover 95 percent of estimated housing costs, so individual service members will have to cover about 5 percent with out-of-pocket cash. That will likely range between $66 and $149 monthly depending on rank and dependency status.

In 2004, it seemed like a good time to simplify my life. I moved my family from Annapolis to Williamsburg. I went into real estate with Liz Moore and Associates, and was one of the initial agents when Liz opened her Williamsburg branch.
My sons Zach and Josh attended Lafayette High School ,Hornsby Middle School and DJ Montague and are crazy about sports and the outdoors.
I feel lucky to be living the dream, and saving two to four hours by not driving on the DC beltway every day. So, I can now spend my time with friends family while concentrating on learning — and sharing — information about living in Williamsburg.
