The Market is back in Williamsburg

The Williamsburg Farmer’s Market is returning to Duke of Gloucester Street! In order to re-open amidst a pandemic, the board, staff, vendors and volunteers will work hard to ensure the market is a safe place for all.

Here’s what you can expect:

Vendors cannot attend if they are sick, or if they’ve been around anyone with COVID. We will be checking temperatures before the market begins just to make sure.

All vendors, staff and volunteers are required to wear masks. We hope that you will choose to wear a mask at the market. If you forget one, we’ll have extra.

To help ensure safe shopping, the market flow will be one direction, with the entrance on the Henry Street side and the exit on the Nassau Street side. We will have volunteers and staff ready to answer questions, provide a market map, explain our COVID safety plan, and maintain a safe number of shoppers in the market. There’s an image of the safety plan at the bottom of this email.

The market is encouraging low-touch and no-touch purchases. Please point at what you wish to purchase, and the vendor will bag it for you. Vendors may accept cash, credit, or tokens. All vendors accept cash, most accept credit and all (except the wineries) accept tokens. You can purchase tokens as you enter the market.

If you utilize SNAP or P-SNAP benefits at the market, there is an unlimited match on fruits and vegetables. So for every $1 you spend, you will receive an additional $1 to spend on fruits and vegetables. We will also continue offering our POP+ match and the market match.

Pre-orders are helpful, but not required. Pre-orders can be picked up directly from the vendor between 8 am and noon. There will also be 4-5 parking spots designated for pre-order pick up in the P4 lot behind the Colonial Williamsburg ticket window. If you pre-order and are at higher risk you can pick up your orders before the market opens between 7:30 am and 8:00 am. To pre-order, shop here, the online store will be open from Saturday through Wednesdays at midnight.

The market will have extra volunteers in bright green shirts to help answer questions and ensure a safe experience for all. If you have any questions, they should be walking throughout the market, ready to help.

As always, we look forward to seeing you at the market! More info here
