Tide Radio -WYDaily owner expands to North Carolina

Davis Media owner of the Tide and WBACH radio stations in Williamsburg is replicating its efforts in the Wilmington NC Market.

The company purchased six Wilmington  radio stations: WUIN – The Penguin, 98.3FM; WBNE – The Bone, 103.7FM; WLTT & WNTB — The Big Talker, FM 93.7FM and 106.3FM; and WSFM – Bach Radio, 95.9FM and 1180AM and is mirroring their business plan from Williamsburg..

Listeners to those stations will now hear Port City Daily reporters delivering the news and talking about their stories just as WYDaily reporters do here in Williamsburg.

Tom Davis, company founder  said the Wilmington market was attractive to the company as it looked to expand its radio-driven paperless newspaper concept, which it pioneered in Williamsburg in 2008.

“The Cape Fear region is a well-educated, engaged market with elements our company likes working with: a respected university, quality health care providers and numerous cultural assets that make living – and visiting – enjoyable,” Davis said in the release. “Our advertisers are excited about adding another way of bringing their message to residents, which we call ‘listen and click’. We’re excited to be partners as they grow their businesses.
