Tournament Week Schedule Announced at Kingsmill Championship
Brittany Lang, currently the 15th ranked player on the 2012 LPGA Tour Money List, was in Williamsburg yesterday for media day generating excitement surrounding the Kingsmill Championship. Lang, an up and coming star of the LPGA, was born in Richmond, VA, and is thrilled about the LPGA Tour returning to Kingsmill. Lang turned professional in 2005 and has recorded five top ten finishes in major championships, including a runner-up finish at the 2011 Women’s British Open. Lang recorded her first victory earlier this year at the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic in Waterloo, Ontario, as she prevailed after a four-player playoff.
In addition to highlighting Lang at media day, Kingsmill Resort’s Vice President of Sports Operations, Wayne Nooe, announced the tournament schedule and other special events surrounding the historic championship. "We are excited to have the Kingsmill Championship returning to Kingsmill Resort and have planned several activities to entertain fans and their families throughout the week of the tournament," stated Nooe. "We hope that the entire community will come out to support the LPGA and such a great event for the area."
Tournament Week
The Kingsmill Championship’s event week schedule has been finalized. The on-course events will begin Monday, September 3rd, with the Open Qualifier to be held at Kingsmill Resort’s River Course. Starting at 7:00am on Wednesday, September 5th, the top 50 players in the field will kick-off the official Pro-Am. The first and second rounds of the Kingsmill Championship will take place on Thursday and Friday beginning at 7:00am and will be televised live on the Golf Channel from 12:30 – 2:30pm ET. The final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday will be televised live on the Golf Channel from 12:00 – 2:30pm and 2:00 – 5:00pm ET, respectively. Kingsmill Resort’s River Course will be open to all spectators beginning Monday, September 3, with free admission on Monday and Tuesday. Good-Any-Day tickets for Wednesday – Sunday begin at $25 and kids 17 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.

In addition to a week of first-class professional golf, the Kingsmill Championship offers a number of weekend activities that are fun for the whole family.
Heroes Program
Active-duty military members, police offers and firefighters and one guest receive complimentary grounds admission Wednesday – Friday when a valid I.D. is presented at the Kingsmill Championship admissions gate.
Healthy Start Junior Breakfast presented by Optima
Saturday morning will begin with a Healthy Start Junior Breakfast where junior golfers ages 7-17 will have the opportunity to eat breakfast in the Kingsmill Resort Skybox. The breakfast will be from 9:30 – 10:30am and will feature speakers for both kids and their parents. Advance registration is required online at www.thekingsmillchampionship.com.
LPGA Scavenger Hunt & Doodle Expo
The LPGA Scavenger Hunt and Doodle Expo will run from 10:30am – 2:30pm on Saturday afternoon. Junior golfers of all ages are able to enjoy an LPGA scavenger hunt and will also be able to do a craft throughout the day. No registration required.
Junior Clinic presented by James City County
Make plans for your junior golfers, ages 7-17, to attend an exhibition clinic with LPGA Tour players followed by hands-on instruction with Mid-Atlantic PGA professionals. Advance registration is recommended and can be done at www.thekingsmillchampionship.com.
Family Fun Zone presented by Busch Gardens
The Family Fun Zone is an interactive area where kids and their parents can play between putts. It is located on the first hole of the Plantation Course and access to this area is complimentary with admission. The Family Fun Zone will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am – 3:00pm.
LPGA Front Row Experience
Practice your drive alongside the pros. LPGA teaching professionals will provide free 10-minute lessons to spectators on the driving range on Saturday and Sunday. Look for the registration tent on the driving range to sign up for your lesson.

About Kingsmill on The James
Kingsmill On The James is a vibrant resort community, less than three miles from Colonial Williamsburg, and located on a 2900 acre protected area along the historic James River.
