River Mill Homearama 2019-Richmond

Richmond Homearama is the region’s most exciting new home show. Four custom home builders from across the area have crafted stunning model homes on one street that are open for 12 days in the Henrico neighborhood of River Mill. These homes are fully furnished and decorated by the area’s finest designers showcasing the latest trends and custom home features. With exciting special events, exhibits & plenty to see, Richmond Homearama is sure to be amazing.
River Mill, a 906-home development near Virginia Center Commons is playing host to this year’s Richmond Homearama, the annual single-site spring home showcase put on by the Home Building Association of Richmond.

In addition to touring model homes offered by four custom builders and decorated by local designers, visitors will be able to explore portions of the walking trails and recreational amenities under development.

In keeping with the theme of health and fitness, special events will include a kickoff Fit and Fun Weekend with a toddler fun run and pop-up Pure Barre class, and a Homearama Homegrown weekend featuring local vendors and artisans. On June 6, Taste of RVA will feature samples from top restaurants, extended hours and live music. Craft beer will be the highlight of another celebration, and the event will close with a rodeo-themed weekend.

Clearly, the Homearama will have wide appeal, but not simply for fitness buffs, foodies, beer lovers, home-seekers, and homeowners looking for decorating ideas.

Once Henrico County completes the Woodman Road extension residents will be able to travel to neighboring developments on foot or by bike as well as the recreation areas at Greenwood Park.

This connectivity was one of the five fundamental areas on which River Mill scored highly in evaluations for the Active RVA certification (which also rated the community regarding space, signage, amenities, and buildings).

River Mill’s trails’ location alongside the Chickahominy River also affords views of shady glens, nature scenes and wildlife not available on typical walking paths.

Homearama is open to the public and takes place Wednesdays through Sundays from June 1-16. General admission is $10, and proceeds benefit ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation. Tickets for Taste of RVA (June 6) are $20. For details, visit RichmondHomearama.com.

This year’s event kicked off over the past weekend and runs through June 16. It is the first time it’s been held in Henrico County after several years in southwestern Chesterfield County. The showcase was previously held in Midlothian-area communities RounTrey in 2015 and 2017, Hallsley in 2016 and Magnolia Green last year.

River Mill is planned for 356 single-family homes starting around $350,000, 265 townhomes starting around $250,000 and 285 apartments.

Sales have been brisk at River Mill. Since October 2018 there have been 50 townhomes and 26 houses sold.

HHHunt Homes is one of River Mill’s four homebuilders, each of which has a house showcased in Homearama. They include LeGault Homes, LifeStyle Home Builders and Schell Brothers.

Home sizes in River Mill will range from 2,700 to 4,000 square feet and up. The townhomes range from 1,400 to 2,200 square feet.
